Meaning
Bank charges are fees imposed by the bank for the services it provides, such as account maintenance fees, cheque book costs or transfer charges. They appear on the bank statement but are usually not yet recorded in the business's cash book.
Example
Segar Cafe's bank statement shows bank charges of RM30 on 31 May that have not been entered; the cash book must be credited with RM30 when it is updated.
