Meaning
A suspense account is a temporary account opened to hold the difference in the trial balance when total debits do not equal total credits. It is used only for errors affecting the trial balance. Once all such errors are corrected, the suspense account balance becomes zero and the account is closed.
Example
For example, Damai Enterprise's trial balance is short of debits by RM120. The suspense account is credited RM120 so the trial balance balances temporarily. After the error is found, the correcting entry debits the suspense account RM120 to close it.
