Accounting for Clubs and Societies
MS: Dana Terkumpul · EN: Accumulated Fund · ZH: 累积基金
Meaning
The Accumulated Fund is the club's own fund built up year after year, equivalent to capital in a business. It is calculated as total assets minus total liabilities at the start of the year. It increases with a surplus and decreases with a deficit each year.
Example
For example, at the start of the year Ria Culture Club has assets of RM12,000 and liabilities of RM2,000, so the Accumulated Fund is RM10,000. If the year's surplus is RM1,500, the closing Accumulated Fund becomes RM11,500.
