Meaning
A credit balance is the balance of an account when the total of the credit side exceeds the total of the debit side. In the trial balance, credit balances are recorded in the credit column. Liabilities, capital, sales and revenue normally carry credit balances.
Example
The Capital account of Indah Salon shows RM15,000 invested by the owner. This account has a credit balance of RM15,000, and the figure is carried to the credit column of the trial balance.
