Meaning

Drawings are cash or goods taken by the owner from the business for personal use. Drawings reduce capital, so in the comparison method they must be added back to the change in capital to obtain the true net profit.

Example

Mr Rizal takes RM500 cash each month from Rizal Shop for family expenses. In a year, drawings = 500 x 12 = RM6,000, which is added back when calculating profit.
