Meaning
Credit Purchases are purchases of goods paid for later, creating creditors. In incomplete records, credit purchases are found through the Creditors Control Account: Credit purchases = Closing creditors + Payments to creditors - Opening creditors, plus adjustments such as discount received and returns outwards.
Example
Bakti Shop's creditors: opening balance RM2,000, payments to creditors RM18,000, closing balance RM4,000, no other adjustments. Credit purchases = 4,000 + 18,000 - 2,000 = RM20,000.
